Frequently Asked Questions About Chiropractic Care

Is Chiropractor Care Safe?

Yes. A chiropractic adjustment is about 100 times safer than taking an over the counter pain reliever. Chiropractic care applies a non-surgical, drug-free approach to Total Body Wellness and focuses on the body’s inborn capacity to maintain and restore its own health. In Naturopathic terms, chiropractic care simply assists the body heal itself — it never puts anything into the body and never takes anything away.

Chiropractors locate, analyze and gently correct spinal misalignments by using a broad range of adjusting techniques. By restoring proper nerve flow, the chiropractor helps people enjoy more of their full potential for health and optimal performance.

Who should see a chiropractor?

Newborns. An active healthy child going through a growth spurt. A child with a compromised immune system. Your stressed out teen that goes through more mood swings than you can count. College age kids learning to make it in the less than perfect world. A new mother-to-be. These are the people you are finding in chiropractic offices all over the country. This shift is occurring as people are slowly beginning to realize that the preservation of health is far easier than the cure for disease.

Chiropractic care is a commitment to wellness, health, and reaching your full potential. Regular chiropractic checkups from birth on can have a profound impact on allowing a child to reach his or her full health potential. How?

The proper placement of your spinal column is absolutely critical to you well being. As long as all the bones in your spine are in their proper place, spinal nerves do not suffer Interference. When you are not suffering Interference, your Central Nervous System is working at peak performance. Most people however, have experienced a stressful birthing process, have fallen, slipped, wrenched their backs, are stressed, take medications, endure pregnancy, or suffer from poor posture or poor muscle tone. All of these things can cause Vertebral Subluxation which causes Interference and ultimately, compromises your Central Nervous System. A compromised Central Nervous System could mean illness, pain, and more often than not, disease. The smartest thing you could do, is protect your spine.

What are common causes of Vertebral Subluxations?

The birthing process causes incredible stress upon the neck, shoulder, skull, and backs of young infants. Some infants do a fair job of correcting Vertebral Subluxation while many do not. Children suffering from allergies, ADD, ADHA, Sensory Processing Disorder, asthma, or any other disorder or disease are likely suffering from Vertebral Subluxations. Additionally, prolonged stress, tense muscles, slips, fall, auto accidents, poor posture and bad sleeping habits can lead to Vertebral Subluxations.

Do I have Vertebral Subluxations?

There’s a good change that are your body has been relaying symptoms to you for years. People who begin to suffer from pain, discomfort, headaches, decreasing mobility, the onset of a disease or disorder have been suffering from Vertebral Subluxations which leads to a malfunctioning Central Nervous System. Symptoms are often viewed as “nuisances” and more often than not, pain killer or muscle relaxants are prescribed. These “symptoms” are the body’s warning signals that something is malfunctioning and needs investigation. Never ignore or drug away symptoms — they are there to protect you by informing you there is a problem with the Central Nervous System.

I suffer from sciatica. What can I do?

Car accidents, traumatic events, pregnancy, prolonged years of bad posture, excess weight, or poor muscle tone can all lead to sciatica.

Since sciatica is often caused by a nearby disc that has bulged, herniated, or ruptured, your chiropractor can help by correcting the Vertebral Subluxation. 2-3 pairs of nerves exit from the spine near the lower back to form the sciatic nerves. If there is a Vertebral Subluxation near the nerve, it can cause Interference, along the sciatic nerve that leads to acute pain in the lower back that can extend down either leg. This pain is often made worse with long periods of sitting or standing. Pain killers and muscle relaxants will not fix sciatica, correcting the Vertebral Subluxation that is causing irritation to the nerve can. See your chiropractor so that he/she can begin to:

• Locate and correct Vertebral Subluxations
• Naturally reduce pain by reducing stress and irritation on the sciatic nerves
• Help restore the 4 major curves in the spine
• Reduce recovery time by aiding the natural healing processes of the body
• Reduce the likelihood of permanent spinal nerve damage
• Restore the Central Nervous System to an optimal state of health and well being

How long will I need chiropractic care?

Naturally, each case will vary. The length of time a person has lived with Vertebral Subluxations will play a role in determining how long the care will take. However, most patients see immediate results and even greater results over weeks and months. Some patients opt to stop chiropractic care when they achieve their desired results while many others realize that maintaining the occasional chiropractic check up is the safest and most effective way to ensure the body is free from Vertebral Subluxations. A body that does not have to suffer from Vertebral Subluxations is a body that does not suffer from Interference and ultimately enjoys a fully functioning Central Nervous System. Chiropractic Care is the safest and most cost effective way to ensure better health and wellness.
